Comprehensive Coursework
Comprehensive coursework is designed to help students build a sound knowledge base that bridges multiple areas of expertise. The coursework consists of one compulsory course and courses from the following three core areas: Advanced Science and Technology; Global Society and Public Policy; and Issue Solving.
Compulsory course
Social Design and Global Leadership
Goal:
- Learning methods in finding social issues to solve for social design as a future global leader
Learning Process:
- One group debate, following one lecture
- Intensive discussions about cases with multi-disciplinary students
Used Cases:
- International economy and finance
- Energy security
- Global public health
- Space collaboration
Cross Cutting Issues:
- Global governance
- Business and Leadership
Outputs:
- Collaborated and fine presentations via intensive discussions for finding social issues
- Skilled communication for making presentations among multi-disciplinary students
Global Society and Public Policy Core (75 courses)
- Category I: Introductory courses on the social sciences for students from the natural sciences and others
- Category II: Advanced courses for students who have completed Category I courses and/or students with equivalent knowledge
