Program for Leading Graduate Schools Forum 2017
Recruitment of Participants:
The Program for Leading Graduate Schools Forum 2017 is scheduled to be held from Friday 20th October to Saturday 21st October 2017.
This year’s forum will be organized by Nagoya University and will be joined by particiants from 62 Leading Programs from around the country.
■ Dates: Friday 20th October ~ Saturday 21st October 2017
■ Venue: Nagoya Marriott Associa Hotel 16th floor, Towers Ballroom and others
※Pre-forum discussions will be held by some students at the Higashiyama campus of Nagoya University in the afternoon of Thursday, 19th October.

② Pre-forum discussion A: student discussion on the development and the establishment of Leading Programs and parallel workshop on student career development.
③ Pre-forum discussion B: debate about Diversity Management + HeForShe event + parallel workshop on Diversity Management

① Recruitment of 1~2 students for the Poster Presentations:
■ Contents:
Poster presentations are divided into three categories: Industrial Leader, Academia Leader, International Leader. Please present how the knowledge and skills obtained under the Leading Program, combined with your doctoral thesis research, have enhanced your future prospects as a leader.
■ Date: Friday 20th October, from 16:30 to 18:00
■ Venue: Nagoya Marriott Associa Hotel 16th floor “Azalea”
■ Poster overview and format:
The title is to be written in both English and Japanese. Please write the abstract and poster in English.
※Further details about the poster and the abstract will be announced later.

② Recruitment of 1~2 students for the Pre-forum discussion A (Thursday 19th October, from 13:00) and parallel workshop (student career development, Saturday 21st October, 9:00 to 12:30)
※Participants must attend both the Thursday afternoon discussion and the Saturday morning workshop.
<Regarding the pre-forum discussion A>
■ Contents: Students will be divided into groups to discuss about career development of PhD students and integration of the program into the curriculum, and make propositions aimed at industry and academia. Some propositions will be selected to be presented at the panel discussion on the 1st day.
■ Date: Thursday 19th October, from 13:00. (※one day before the start of the forum)
■ Venue: Seminar room and conference room in the Science Department South Building, Environmental Studies Hall, Higashiyama campus, Nagoya University
■ Participants: Students, mentors from industry and academia, staff (facilitators)
■ Language: English, in principle (Japanese may be permitted)
※During this pre-forum discussion A, student panelists who will speak at Friday’s panel discussion (from 15:00 to 16:30) will be chosen.
<Regarding the parallel workshop (student career development)>
■ Contents: based on the results of the pre-forum discussion A (19th October) and the panel discussion (20th October), steps to deepen and give shape to the proposed suggestions will be discussed and summed up in a “Nagoya Declaration”.
■ Date: Saturday 21st October, from 9:00 to 12:30
■ Venue: Nagoya Marriott Associa Hotel 17th floor “Cosmos”
■ Participants: Students, mentors from industry and academia, staff

③ Recruitment of 1~2 students for the pre-forum discussion B (Thursday 19th October from 13:00 to 15:00), the HeForShe event (Thursday 19th October from 15:30 to 17:00), and the associated parallel workshop (Saturday 21st October, in the morning)
■ Contents:
Focusing on students of the Leading Programs, examples of activities engaged in by the different Programs to promote diversity will be discussed and outstanding activities will be presented to the forum participants. This session should promote a better understanding of Diversity Management by the participating students.
※Participants must attend both the pre-forum discussion B and the HeForShe event on Thursday afternoon as well as the Saturday morning workshop.
<Regarding the pre-forum discussion B: “Debate about Diversity Management”>
■ Contents: students from each program will present their activities on “diversity management”, and discuss about them. Outstanding activities will be selected to be presented during the workshop on the second day of the forum.
■ Date: Thursday 19th October from 13:00 to 15:00
■ Venue: Disaster Mitigation Hall, Higashiyama campus, Nagoya University
■ Participants: students (1~2 students chosen from each program)
■ Language: English, in principle (Japanese may be permitted)
<Regarding the HeForShe event: “Ideathon” to eliminate gender-based violence from campus life>
■ Contents: A workshop is being planned to provide knowledge about gender-based violence as well as a discussion about solutions to eliminate gender-based violence from campus life.
■ Date: Thursday 19th October from 15:30 to 17:00
■ Venue: Disaster Mitigation Hall, Higashiyama campus, Nagoya University
■ Language: English, in principle (Japanese may be permitted)
<Regarding the parallel workshop on Diversity Management>
■ Contents: based on the results of the pre-forum discussion B, outstanding activities will be presented to forum participants by chosen student delegates (around 10 presentations)
■ Date of the event: 21st October (Saturday) in the morning (still being scheduled)
■ Venue: Nagoya Marriott Associa Hotel
■ Participants: students who have participated in the pre-forum discussion B, other forum participants
■ Language: English in principle (Japanese also possible)
