Summary

The agenda for the G7 Ise-Shima Summit chaired by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on 26 – 27 May include global economy and trade, foreign policy, climate change and energy, sustainable development, health, and women. Global Health, among others, has been set as a priority in the World Bank Group, as part of our efforts to achieve the two goals we have set: Eliminating extreme poverty by the year 2030 and promoting shared prosperity. We have worked in partnership with the Government of Japan in the area of Global Health, by cooperating in many ways.

We will hold a commemorative event, “Dialogue with President Kim on Global Health” to discuss global health initiatives towards the Summit and future prospects, on the occasion of World Bank President Jim Yong Kim’s visit to Japan to attend the meetings at the G7 Ise-Shima Summit. The event will be in English with simultaneous interpretation into Japanese.
