■Contents In Thailand, “30 baht scheme” was introduced in 2002, and it evolved into “UC scheme” in 2006, which has covered 75% of the population. Together with CSMBS and SSS, UC composes Thai universal health coverage (UHC), and is said to have greatly reduced household poverty due to catastrophic medical expenditures. To focus on the concrete mechanism to continuously provide high quality services under severe financial conditions, this seminar will give a lecture on key finance, management policy, sustainability etc. of Thai “UC scheme”. Thailand has similarities with other emerging countries and there are many valuable hints to be helpful in introducing universal health coverage.
